Professional Termite Inspection for Buyers in NJ & NY

Includes NPMA-33 Report Required for Most Real Estate Transactions

With every termite inspection, we provide the official NPMA-33 report

—required by most lenders during real estate transactions.

This standardized wood-destroying insect (WDI) report outlines any visible signs of termite activity or damage, giving buyers and agents the documentation they need for closing.

Our inspections are thorough, timely, and fully compliant with state and national requirements.

If you're buying a home, the last thing you want is unexpected termite damage.

Our termite inspections are designed to detect not only active infestations, but also signs of past damage that could affect the structure and value of the home.

Each inspection comes with the NPMA-33 Wood Destroying Insect Inspection Report so you’re fully prepared for closing with the right documentation in hand.

Termites are the most destructive wood-destroying insects (WDIs) in the U.S. because they feed on wood as their primary food source, unlike other WDIs that merely nest or tunnel through it.

NJ and NY rank in the "moderate to heavy" activity rating.

Why A Termite Inspection Matters

Termites and other wood-destroying organisms (WDOs) can cause significant structural damage—often without obvious signs until it's too late. A termite inspection is a small investment that can help you avoid costly repairs, delayed closings, or unexpected surprises after you move in.

We check for:

Subterranean termites , Drywood termites, Carpenter ants, Powder post beetles, Signs of active or past infestations, Moisture conditions that may attract termites, and more.

A good termite inspection involves a detailed, visual examination of both the interior and exterior of a property to identify signs of termite activity or wood-destroying insect damage. This includes checking accessible areas such as the foundation, crawl spaces, basements, attics, and around windows, doors, and plumbing. Inspectors look for mud tubes, frass (termite droppings), damaged wood, and evidence of past infestations.

Other Wood Destroying Insects - WDI

Other wood destroying insects are

Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Firewood Insects, Horntails

or Wood Wasps, Powder Post and other lumber-damaging beetles.

Here are some images and examples below of the type of damage caused by each.

Here we have a carpenter and the the type of damage they create. Unlike Termites, carpenter ants will chew clear through the wood.

Termites preserve outer layers of wood to contain the humidity within, it also helps them remain hidden.

Here we have damage caused by carpenter bees, and an illustration of what a carpenter bee looks like. What separates a carpenter bee from any other is the all black abdomen.

The most common wood destroying beetles are the Powder Post, Old House borer and the Common Furniture Beetles. You may see this type of damage in manufactured wood work such as oak floors or beechnut/birch furniture.
